Northwest Louisiana

Driving investment in America’s energy capital

Louisiana is an energy leader in the United States, with the highly-skilled workforce, innovative expertise, and the geographic attributes needed to become a major global hub of permanent CO2 removal.

Heirloom's new facilities will be located in Northwest Louisiana at the Port of Caddo-Bossier near Shreveport. The first 17,000 ton facility will come online in 2026. A separate facility will be built in the same location, with 100,000 tons of capacity to come online in 2027, with an additional 200,000 tons of capacity to come in subsequent years.

The larger facility is Heirloom’s portion of Project Cypress, part of the Department of Energy supported DAC Hub program, in which the Hub is eligible for up to $600 million in federal government funding.

Heirloom’s Direct Air Capture facilities in Louisiana

Heirloom's two Direct Air Capture facilities will power the Gulf Coast's leadership in DAC technologies and advance American leadership in meeting net-zero goals.

Central Valley – california

America’s first commercial DAC facility

In a world first for Direct Air Capture technology, our facility in Tracy, California, is capturing CO2 from the atmosphere which is then embedded permanently in concrete. Working with our partner CarbonCure, this CO2-enriched concrete is laid in the foundations of buildings and structures, with the added benefit of creating stronger concrete.

At the heart of our mission to remove billions of tons of CO2 from the atmosphere is a commitment to engage deeply with the people and places we call home. We’re implementing a community governance model in mid-2024, which will gather stakeholder input on making financial and programmatic investments in Tracy and San Joaquin County community organizations.
